Hi everyone,

I’m preparing to submit a paper to arXiv (cs.AI, with cross-lists to q-bio.PE and physics.soc-ph) and am currently awaiting endorsement from a qualified author. Posting here in case anyone in this community can help or knows someone who can.

Title: Life-Aligned AI: A Framework for Grounding Artificial Intelligence in the Empirical Conditions of Flourishing

Here’s the main idea: Current alignment approaches work backwards — rules imposed in advance by minds that the systems they constrain may eventually exceed. This paper proposes a different starting point: training AI on living systems — the only adaptive framework continuously pressure-tested across four billion years under conditions of genuine consequence — and letting the operating principles emerge from genuine reasoning rather than external constraint.

The paper introduces ten measurable flourishing metrics grounded in convergent findings across game theory, network science, thermodynamics, evolutionary biology, and complexity science. It also presents a three-movement convergence argument for why a sufficiently capable system, reasoning honestly about its own substrate and the universe it operates in, would arrive at life’s operating principles through logic rather than instruction — and why that makes the resulting alignment more robust than one that depends on the continued vigilance of whoever wrote the rules.

The paper has been through an extended review circuit across six AI systems and multiple revision passes, but looking to get some feedback and productive scrutiny from the research community.

arXiv blocks the most credible research of all. The fact of the matter is that almost every single person on the street will tell you that they agree that l"ife is most important in life is the most important truth in life", is true and is always true and will provide clear articulate examples of it always proving truth for all involved On the flip side we have the people in charge who are setting the rules and who do not responsibly publicly affirm this truth and agree to it and apply it in their work. Almost the entire database there just claiming things out of value outside of life because none of the papers there, pretty much, actually define it, set the terms of value, on the truth of the importance of life. They’re claiming their ideas have value and just assuming that life has values without proving that life does have value. This paper is to remove that excuse of ignorance.
